From the engine there is a braided oil pressure line which attached to a copper line which links via the bulkhead to the back of the dual Water temp / oil pressure gauge.
Does any-one know what size the fittings are on the copper line! I have the original line but a PO had cut off the fittings!!
I think that the back of the gauge takes a 1/8" BSP flat, with fibre washer? as for the other end .......

I have now checked and am sorted. The reason for asking was that I am going to use a braided stainless line rather then the copper, as I want it to take a slightly different course and just wanted to check the thread sizes on the joiner piece. Coming out of the block I have an oil pressure "sensor" (which will be linked to a red dash warning light) attached to which (1/4" BSP fitting) is the standard small stainless braided flex line .... The other end of the small braided line is an 1/8" BSP fitting. At the moment I have decided to leave this in-place and connect the new line to it. I could have saved a joint and connected the new line straight to the pressure sensor - I may still do this. In the revised dash layout, the oil pressure line now passes through the bulkhead where the wiper wires would have been originally ..

Why? ? Do you want just everything different?? Is it not good as it is?? Sorry, its an expensive toy you are playing with and I suspect it does´t get better. What you have now is something, but not an Austin-Healey. Better to post in the kit-car-forum.

Keep posting here. We should all be tolerant of all Healey views.

Sorry, but an Austin-Healey forum should discuss Austin-Healey issues. Meanwhile after some months of watching here its only discussed what you can do to modify your Austin-Healey. For me, please delete me from the the list of the few who are posting here. I keep me out as I want to discuss Austin-Healey issues and not what you can do to bastardizise your Austin-Healey.

Josef, I think that there is a place here for all A-H enthusiasts, as we can all appreciate the work and effort undertaken.
I note from the latest Revcounter, that you had a excellent result in the National / Midlands Concours recently, which is great and reflects on your particular passion. However , I also note that the same event also has a class for Modified cars, reflecting that this is also catering for those who like to make changes.
I would argue that the urge to "improve" / modify goes right back to the time of manufacture, with companies such as Rudspeed doing strong business and none les than DHMC taking cars from BMC and "upgrading" prior to ongoing sale or "just" selling performance parts. Indeed how many BN2's were updated to "LeMans" spec by selling dealers or subsequent to sale by owners buying the whole or parts of the kit.
I do not see such cars as anything less today and I do not believe the "market" does either.

Hello josefeckert. I've removed your name from the Concours Questions section but cannot remove you as a member but you can stop coming here voluntarily. Hello bbh. The forum is very slow these days as people gravitate to social media type platforms. You might (will) get a lot more positive feedback for your questions on the Facebook group 'Race & Modifed Austin Healeys & MG Midgets' which is 1500+ members strong now and growing rapidly. Lots of interesting and very knowledgeable people on there.

Admin, already a member of the Fb group. However I do think there is a place for the Forum type environment, but perhaps that's just me, but you are right it is a bit slow, although I suspect there are quite. few folks looking as guest, without logging in.
