Inside the wheel well of my BT7 (and I suspect all "Big Healeys"), there is a sizeable gap between the inner wing and the inside of the outer wing. Originally this was not filled but bridged in a couple of places with a rubber stopper, held in-place by a rivet. I guess the main purpose here was to prevent rubbing and help keep the shape on the outer wing. However it leaves a massive gap for all sorts of road "crud" to make its way behind the inner wing and into that not so easily accessible area up to the "A" pillar Interestingly on my MGA, there is a rubber strip which closes this gap all round and which works well, but I put this on when the outer body was still off. So, after looking for a suitable candidate which I could install with the outer wings in-place I came across some MGB Boot seal, which is the right size to 'Close the Gap'. This can be pushed on to the edge of the inner wing - running a screwdriver up the seal grip helps as does loosening the 3 bolts at the bottom of the wing and then re-tightened which also helps secure the seal in-place. On completion I superglued the ends to close the tube. This might not keep every-thing out but is certainly a lot better than before.

As long as it doesn't trap moisture

I like that. Are you going to do something at the rear wings ? I always thought an arch liner would be a benefit

As long as it doesn't trap moisture Hopefully shouldn't be a problem as the bottom of that area is open any-away.

I visited a scrapyard and bought a couple of suitable looking arch guards for a couple of quid.
