well, the Sunbeam is finally in at the paint shop ( seven years on, one major house move and two hospital operations later ! ) ive tidied the garage, thrown out lots of bits of "useful" junk, and I'm looking for things to pass the time. At the weekend I put a fresh battery on the Jamaican and cranked the engine over. No, it didn't start, but there's a healthy spark on what's probably 25 year old points, plugs and leads etc 😀. I think the timings way out, so will have a look there. Today I took a brake caliper off. The pistons came out with a good dose of compressed air ! I'm impressed by the lack of rust but not so much by the rather large desiccated cocoons inside one of the pistons. Yuk.

I was so impressed when I took out the caliper bolt out I felt I had to share it ! Probably been there for 50 years and rust free. What do you mean, I should get out more !

Does the wing vent pass through into the engine compartment? (I have also the Mk 1A but in the still-having-one-tonne-of-rust stage).
