Hi Mine is a 66 BJ8. I have 2 questions that up till now I still cannot answer. Does anyone have a good modern matching Ral for the 66 Healey ice blue. A simple answer with a ral of a modern company please, one that I can find in Europe.
Second question. Can anyone please point me to a place where i can find a pattern to cut to shape the under carpet insulation. I have seen posts alluding to this treasure but cannot locate it.
Cheers H

Hi H,
As per my answer on the facebook group, there is no RAL code for Ice Blue. I know many others have quoted BU2 which is the original code but that is not a RAL code which is what you've asked for.
There are a few who have blended their own formula, but will not release the recipe.
If you are only painting inside your engine bay(i think thats what you said on fb) can you not take the car or a panel and get it matched at your local paint supplier?

Cosmos,
I had my paint done by James Horner at Common Lane Restorations and they did a good match (well I think so anyhow) to Healey Ice Blue. James can be contacted on 01977 677927, so maybe worth a call.
The other option as described above, and potentially better if you need to match up / touch up soon is to look for a shade from a current mainstream manufacturer that is close. I have seen a few listed in various threads.

Thank you both. I did get a match though. The name is BU2 and the company is German named SANDOX

Are you sure? SANDOX not STANDOX? STANDOX is a well known paint supplier here. I buy my paint there.

What was the RAL code they used? Or did the blend like everyone seems to?
