I could do with some advice please. I recently bought a 100/6 and on driving it home found that the steering wheel centre with the horn and indicator controls rotated with the steering wheel and every time I went round a corner the horn came on until I turned the centre back . I took out the stator checked it over, looked ok and put it back this time with grub screws not epoxy like the previous attempt had been done with and hey presto the horn and indicators worked fine. Having now put a few miles on the car the horn has started coming on every time I hit a pothole or when I go round some corners. I have pulled the stator out about 6 inches and regardless of how much I knock it the horn stays quiet. Push it back home into the steering wheel boss and give the wheel a tap and the horn comes on and stay on till I give the horn push a clout. This is becoming a little embarrassing when driving round. Another odd thing is when the stator is pushed home into the steering wheel and the horn is pressed it appears to stick on when it's pulled out it seems to work perfectly. Any help, advice, tips and thoughts would be gladly received before I cut the wires and fit and auxiliary horn push somewhere. Thank you Simon

The stator tube goes all the way to the front of the steering box where there should be an olive and a nut to secure it ( on non adjustable steering columns) The problem you have is almost undoubtedly the horn wire earthing itself on the steering column somewhere
