We took the whole Team Healey PDX to Monterey, CA and the iconic Laguna Seca Raceway for SVRA's Trans Am Speedfest event last weekend. My '57 100-6 # 414 ran well, the driver was rusty as it has been close to 10 years since I've competed on this track. After two practice sessions and two qualifying races, I was lower my lap time by two seconds with every outing. After my last qualifying race, the motor wasn't right, further investigating found a broken valve follower, a spare part I usually never carry as I've never broken one before. I had to sit out the two feature races for my Group 3 grid. It was a great trip regardless, my crew chief farther-in-law met his "hero" actor, Clint Eastwood at our favorite dinner spot.
