The Big Healey-6 takes the outright win on the historic Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California during this years Rolex Monterey Historic Reunion in the Group 1B grid, 1955-1962 production GT cars yesterday. Kevin Adair piloted his 1960 ex-Grant Clark Canadian Championship winning, DHM Works prepared # 171 big Healey 6-cylinder to the top of the podium. Kevin got a great hole shot at the start and after overtaking a single 356 Porsche, he ran away from a huge field, including Ferraris Aston Martins, Corvettes and many Porsches. I've raced with Kevin and often pitted with him, great guy, races clean and fair. His car is always well prepared and legal for this event. I woud guess over half the 48 cars in the field were cheating in some way, but will bet Kevin's car would pass the strictest scrutineering. As the Rolex Monterey Historic Reunion is our (USA's) Goodwood Historics, this is a great win for the Marque. Attachments:

Dougie,
Great win in such a competitive field. Any idea of how much power his car is delivering?

Kevin's motor runs on triple 2" SU HD8's with a period Ruddspeed manifold, putting out close to 250 hp. Attachments:

How does that compare with what you are getting? If memory serves me you are also running a similar set-up.

Yes, you're right we both run very similar intake systems, Kevin's car is a little lighter then mine. We have about the same hp. Laguna Seca is such a great track, if you have open space you can carry a lot of speed through the corners and with the elevation rise, the Healey-6 just eats it up. Attachments:
