ive been keeping busy. The electric power steering motor is now fitted. The one I used is from a Vauxhall Corsa C . It's a bit bigger than some others available, but the information to fit, and control box are readily available. I will end up with a rotary knob on the dash to vary the amount of assistance it gives. Once the rest of the system is in place and working I will write it up fully. i fitted the EPS, then went to refit the heater. Oh Oh ! The air inlet wanted to be in the same space as part of the EPS, so I ended up cutting off the inlet and rewelding it an an angle 🤢.. All together now but rather tight. Id bought a DWR alloy rocker cover via Facebook, then ended up doing a swap with a pal for an original Vanden Plas one - complete with its "Princess" brass plate. Happy days I had to make housings for the tail lights then bond them into the rear panel- amazing how much time they take to do. The bits and pieces arrived today for me to make an electric boot release. Oh and I'm making a 3 speed fan to replace the lethargic snail fan, using bits of BMW E 21 heater.

Don't tell the Konkours Kommittee!

Busy busy . I took a new petrol tank and cut bits out of it, then blazed new metal it to get the shape I needed, also moved the filler pipe I realised there was only glassfibre between the tank and erring drivers following me so I made some protection from a piece of roll over bar I had bolted inside the boot area then glassed in too. i spent an age building a channel for a boot seal, fabricating and fitting a solenoid operated boot lock and a prop rod for the boot - no photos of these at present. For some light relief, I fitted the wiper linkage. The motor had to have a new bracket fabricated. The heaterbox had already been modified, but I had to go further, so it's input had to be "adjusted " because of the motor for the power steering. Also, the demist had to come from the underneath. I glassfibred in a piece of tube across the "A" posts to give me something to support the steering column and the dashboard My modified dashboard now fits, and I've roughed up a template for the lower part. Not too Carlos Fandango I hope ! Finally, for now, I made a glassfibred dash top. This can easily unbolt to gain access to the wiring below - hopefully saving a few head in the footwell hours ! It will be trimmed in due course

Oh and a much modified 3 speed fan from a BMW. The plan here is to draw fresh air from a vent on the wing

I had raised the body on the chassis some to give me a bit of headroom in the car. That, and lightweight bodywork caused me a problem something of the off roader! This was with 2 bags of sand and 4 concrete blocks in the back. The axle was hard against the chassis bump rubbers. I took 2 leafs from the spring, and put a 10 mm spacer above the spring. The spring is nicely deflected now, about where I'd expect it to be, so it's brave pill time again Laying glassfibre inside the arch is a horrible messy job !

One is enough, believe me. Progress is unfortunately halted, as the Sunbeam engine started making horrid noises last night 🤢

Doesn't look as bad as I thought ( panicked ! ) I took off the rocker covers - it only takes about 2 hours to get to them !- to discover four of the rocker arms had completely unscrewed themselves and were lying loose. I guess I hadn't properly tightened their locking screws, so on Wednesday night I drove home on 5 cylinders

Finally got my radiator back from being modified Behind it are twin fans. Came from an MX5. Ones the cooling fan, the other was A/C i had my inlet manifold and carbs vapour blaster, so I simply had to throw them roughly in place unfortunately, something else has sneaked into my garage, so maybe progress will slow down
